A MESSAGE FROM YOUR PRESIDENT:
Dear Colleagues:

It is a honor and pleasure to communicate for the first time as President of the Mex. Clin. Neurophysiol. Society.
I would like to start in thanking the past presidents of the Society with whom I've been very close this last four years: Dra. Gabriela Romero, Dra. Lilia de la Maza, Dr. Jorge Burgos and Dr. Jaime Ramos Peek. Their hard work covered tough problems and they managed them efficiently. I'd also like to thank Dr. Michael Aminoff who took time to join us in this special occassion, no less than the 40th anniversary of our Society. I consider myself lucky for being here accepting this charge besides Dra. Graciela Olmos, one of the founding members of our Society. I also thank Dra. Maricela Franco and Dr. Marcos de la Rosa that will be joining me in this endeavor.
Clinical Neurophysiology in México is going into a very exciting time because of its recent incorporation as a medical speciality by the UNAM. However, we can't let down our efforts. In the national context, we are a small society and we need more contact with related societies so that our work will be recognized at a national level in different academic spaces. Now as a medical speciality, Clinical Neurophysiology will have an enhanced presence in training centers and teaching hospitals and we need to stand together so as to have more voices in the many different medical specialities that will redituate in more prestige and number of patients, for all, a win-win strategy.
We need to be inclusive in our Society so as to form bridges and not competition between all our affiliates.
My final point, is that to cover our goals of more presence in hospitals and private practice, we need your help, so please participate in all activities your Society offers and take a leading role. Let us know your ideas and make suggestions for themes and sessions. You will be gladly surprised on how you will find new friends to work with in the Society. I tell you this out of personal experience.
I want to serve you well as your new president in this new era of challenges, so I ask you to send me comments and advice. By any means, please contact us.

I'll be waiting to hear from you,

Carlos Armando Tello Valdés
